The youth of Alangalang took center stage as the municipality officially opened its Linggo ng Kabataan (LNK) Celebration 2026 in Alangalang National High School, with Mayor Lovely Yu-Castro joining young leaders in the celebration.

Spearheaded by the Local Youth Development Office through LYDO Jan Reian Nino Saavedra, in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Office led by its President, Hon. Charlze Jericho Duane Tan, the opening program brought together young people who continue to take an active role in the community.

In her message, Mayor Yu-Castro reminded the young leaders that leadership is not only about holding a position, but also about having the willingness to serve, listen, and make a difference in the lives of others. She likewise administered the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the AYDN Officers and LNK Little Officers, formally welcoming them to their new responsibilities.

LNK Little Mayor Treshia Nicole Tingzon and ANHS Principal Vernon Barraza, Jr. also shared messages during the program, while the SSLG Officers were recognized with Certificates of Appreciation for their valuable participation and support.

The program concluded with a message from JJC Alangalang President Aicelle Jane Poblete.

More than a celebration, the opening of Linggo ng Kabataan 2026 reflects the municipality’s continuing effort to provide young people with spaces where they can speak, lead, participate, and be heard.

The celebration continues with various activities for the youth and will culminate on August 22, 2026, at the Municipal Covered Court, where the municipality will gather once more to recognize and celebrate the participation, talents, and contributions of Alangalang’s young generation.

For Alangalang, empowering the youth means giving them not only a place in today’s community, but also a meaningful role in shaping its future.
