The Lingganay Festival Lyric-Making Contest aims to produce the Official Lingganay Festival Jingle, reflecting the identity, faith, and aspirations of the people of Alangalang.

This contest is open to all Alangalanganons, encouraging creativity rooted in culture, unity, and devotion to the Santissima Trinidad. OBJECTIVES: 1. To create an official festival jingle for the Lingganay Festival 2. To promote local language through Waray-Waray songwriting 3. To showcase the creativity and talent of Alangalanganons 4. To highlight a people-centered, progressive, and Diyosnon nga Alangalang ELIGIBILITY: 1. Open to all Alangalanganons 2. Participants may join individually or as a group 3. Each participant/group may submit only one (1) entry PRE-REGISTRATION: 1. Due to limited slots, only fifteen (15) participants shall be accepted 2. Pre-registration period: March 27, 2026 – March 31, 2026 3. Interested participants must register at: *Municipal Tourism Office, Municipal Hall *Look for Ms. Helen G. Superada, Tourism Officer – Designate 4. Slots shall be filled on a first-come, first-served basis COMPOSITION REQUIREMENTS: 1. The song must be written in Waray-Waray 2. The composition must be original and unpublished 3. The following words are NON-NEGOTIABLE and must appear in the lyrics: *Santissima Trinidad *Lingganay *Alangalang 4. The message of the song must reflect: *A progressive Alangalang *A people-centered community *Diyosnon nga Alangalanganon (Godly Alangalang) 5. The lyrics shall be intended solely for the Lingganay Festival Official Jingle SUBMISSION GUIDELINES 1. Deadline of submission: April 6, 2026 2. Entries must include: *Printed copy of lyrics *Soft copy (USB or digital file, if required) *Participant’s name and contact details 3. Entries must be submitted to: Municipal Tourism Office GENERAL PROVISION: 1. All entries shall become the property of the LGU Alangalang 2. The LGU reserves the right to: a. Modify or arrange the winning lyrics for musical adaptation b. Use the lyrics for official festival promotions 3. Plagiarism or copied works shall result in automatic disqualification 4.
