Mayor Yu-Castro Joins MOA Signing for FARM Program to Boost Farmer Support and Rice Affordability

HIGHLIGHT: Mayor Lovely Yu-Castro proudly represented the municipality at the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement for the Farmers’ Assistance for Recovery and Modernization (FARM) Program held at the National Economic and Development Authority Regional Office VIII. The FARM Program is a project initiated by the Office of Speaker Martin Romualdez aimed at reducing rice prices by leveraging and optimizing current government support for farmers. This initiative focuses on providing specific assistance to farmers in the 1st District of Leyte to boost agricultural productivity by making sure that qualified farmers receive crucial resources, financial support, and training to maintain and upgrade their farming techniques. Under the FARM Program, eligible farmers will be offered financial aid through existing government initiatives, which must be dedicated solely to acquiring farming supplies.
