LGU Alangalang and the Department of Trade and Industry have formally sealed their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement

LOOK: The Local Government Unit of Alangalang and the Department of Trade and Industry have formally sealed their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement signing yesterday at the Office of the Municipal Mayor for the establishment of a Shared Service Facility (SSF) in the municipality for the production of Pak Na Bet – a proudly homegrown brand of vegetable chips made from locally sourced produce. Under the said agreement, DTI will provide essential machineries and equipment to support the production of the said chips that highlights indigenous ingredients such as squash, eggplant, okra, etc. produced by our very own local farmers. Meanwhile, Mayor Lovely Yu-Castro expressed her gratitude to Provincial Director Araceli Larraga for DTI’s continued support and empowerment to the municipality local enterprise and livelihood opportunities. She emphasized that the said initiative is a key component of Alangalang’s strategic goal of becoming an agro-industrial municipality by 2030. Also present yesterday were DTI Business Development Division Chief Mr. Pedro Bimbo Tan, Executive Assistant to the Mayor Mr. Nataneille Chavez, Alangalang NCBC Ms. Joy Sarte, Municipal Consultant on Tourism Mrs. Shirlene Trinidad-Borja, and SB Member Hon. Kent Jefflord Guillermo.
