ICYMI: PROGRESS UPDATE ON COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF ALANGALANG (CCA)

06 May, 2026
The Board of Trustees of the Community College of Alangalang (CCA) has taken decisive and proactive measures to fast-track the institution’s establishment and operational readiness at the soonest possible time. During its 3rd BOT Meeting, held in coordination with the CHED Regional Office VIII, key policy and administrative directions were set to ensure that the college meets regulatory standards and begins delivering quality higher education services without delay. Among the significant outcomes of the meeting was the discussion of critical organizational requirements, including governance structures, academic program preparation, and compliance with CHED guidelines. A major highlight was the formal creation of the Search Committee for the College President, a vital step toward securing competent leadership that will guide CCA in its foundational years. Present during the meeting were BOT Members Mr. Jann Vincent Tan, Abuyog Community College President Dr. Clemelle Montallana, OIC-MTO Ms. Hannah Quennie Vergara, former DILG Provincial Director Mrs. Annabelle De Asis, SB Committee Vice Chair on Education Hon. Sarah Apurillo, Ph.D., CHED Regional Director Dr. Maximo Aljibe, and Mayor Lovely Yu-Castro. Joining them were Atty. Maeve Lim, BOT Secretary Ms. Verwena Obdulia Bibar, CCA Consultant Dr. Rolando Musca, and CCA Technical Working Group Members Mr. Emmanuel Caones and Mr. Denver Quemado. The path may be challenging and the journey long, but through the dedication of this group and the support of the people, the Community College of Alangalang will soon rise.
