HIGHLIGHTS: LAUNCHING OF THE 50TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY OF UP MANILA SCHOOL OF HEALTH SCIENCES (UPMSHS)

Mayor Lovely Yu-Castro personally attended the launching of the 50th founding anniversary of the University of the Philippines Manila School of Health Sciences in Palo, Leyte, where she also received an award in recognition of her support for community-based health initiatives. The event marks the beginning of a year-long celebration honoring five decades of UPMSHS’s commitment to service, training, and community-oriented health education. It gathered national and regional leaders, including Atty. Angelo Jimenez Jr., President of the University of the Philippines; Dr. Michael Tee, Chancellor of UP Manila; representatives from CHED, DOH, and DILG; as well as officials from Tingog Partylist and partner LGUs across Eastern Visayas. Mayor Yu-Castro’s participation underscores the vital role of local leadership in sustaining programs that empower underserved communities through education and responsive health services.
