Business Registration and Renewal successfully conducted

The BPLO has successfully concluded the 2025 Business Registration and Renewal season, which ran from January 2 to January 20, 2025. A total of 494 business establishments completed their renewal applications, marking a 9% increase compared to last year’s 469 renewals. There was a minimal increase of 9% for new business applicants this year, with 95 new applicants compared to 89 last year. For those who have not yet renewed their business permits, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible. Please be aware that renewals made after the deadline will incur corresponding penalties.

Livelihood Kit Distribution Announcement

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Leyte, in coordination with the LGU Alangalang and the Philippine Army Region VIII, will be distributing Livelihood Kits to 90 officers and members of the Integrated Peace and Development Workers Association (IPDWA) in Alangalang, Leyte. This distribution is part of the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Program. Each livelihood kit, valued at ₱10,000.00, aims to support the livelihoods of former rebels.

DA RFO-8 Leads RCEF-RFFA Rollout

The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 8, in partnership with USSC and the Office of the Municipal Agriculture of Alangalang, spearheaded the distribution of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund-Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA) to 719 farmer-beneficiaries of Alangalang on July 23, 2024, at the Municipal Civic Center. The identified beneficiaries are newly registered rice farmers with rice areas ranging from 0.1 to 2 hectares.

OMA conduct Animal Health Mission

The Office of the Municipal Agriculture, in cooperation with the Philippine Carabao Center, conducted a Massive Animal Health Mission in Barangays Santol, Borseth, San Francisco West, Hupit, San Isidro, and Capiz from February 27-29, 2024. Services provided to 80 carabao owners and handlers included artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis, estrous synchronization, defluking, and vitamin supplementation. This activity was part of the PCC’s Genetic Improvement Program, aiming to upgrade native buffaloes to crossbreed dairy buffaloes.

Treasury Services

The Municipal Treasurer’s Office plays a crucial role in the financial management and administration of the local government unit (LGU). It is vital for the financial health and transparency of the LGU, ensuring that public funds are managed responsibly and that the municipality can effectively serve its residents. While specific duties and responsibilities can vary based on local laws and regulations, they generally include the following:

1. Revenue Collection – Collecting property taxes, ensuring that property owners are billed accurately and payments are received on time.
2. Business Taxes and Licenses – Collecting fees for business permits, licenses, and other regulatory fees.
3. Other Local Taxes and Fees – Collecting other local taxes, such as community taxes, amusement taxes, and market fees.
4. Revenue Monitoring – Keeping track of revenue collections and ensuring all income is accounted for and deposited into appropriate accounts.

From January to June 2024, a total collection of ₱18,208,230.29 was achieved, broken down as follows:

• Revenue Collection: ₱2,363,776.08
• Business Taxes and Licenses: ₱7,228,481.88
• Other Local Taxes and Fees: ₱8,615,972.33
