BIBINGKA

Bibingka in Alangalang is crafted from 100% locally sourced rice, ensuring authenticity and quality. Baked in traditional brick ovens fueled by coconut husks and wood, these methods enhance the flavor of the bibingka. Each batch is prepared daily to maintain freshness and uphold high standards.

One of the renowned bibingka makers in town, Bibu Kubo, has innovated their product with a “Bibingka Espesyal” topped with melted cheese and caramelized coconut shreds. This innovation earned them the first place for Best Kakanin in the inaugural Pabundat Food Festival Competition within the municipality, highlighting their commitment to culinary excellence. Other bibingka makers in Alangalang can be found in San Diego and Cavite, contributing to the local culinary landscape and showcasing the variety and richness of Leyte’s traditional delicacies.
