ALANGALANG STARTS UPDATE OF LAND USE PLAN WITH DHSUD Alangalang, Leyte — The Municipality of Alangalang has officially begun updating its Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) 2026–2035 to guide future growth and strengthen disaster resilience. The Local Government Unit (LGU) has formed a Technical Planning Team led by Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Verwena Caldosa Bibar. The team includes a Planning Core Group, Technical Working Group composed of department heads, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and GIS mappers. The update is being carried out through the Technical Planning Assistance Program (TPAP) in close coordination with the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD). A series of workshops will train the planning team on GIS mapping, hazard and risk assessment, ecosystem and sectoral analysis, land use proposals, and zoning regulations. Mayor Lovell Anne M. Yu Castro expressed her full support: “Updating our CLUP will help us plan wisely, manage growth sustainably, and protect our people.
