680 College Students Receive Financial Assistance in Alangalang

Mayor Lovell Anne Yu-Castro announced that 680 college students in Alangalang have been granted financial assistance under the municipality’s Financial Assistance to College Students Program. During the aid distribution event on February 8, 2025, at the Municipal Civic Center, Mayor Yu-Castro confirmed that qualified recipients will now be considered permanent beneficiaries of the program. This initiative aims to ease students’ financial burdens and support their pursuit of higher education. Present at the event were Municipal Vice Mayor Mario Bague, Hon. Claire Yu, Hon. Elmer Matobato, Hon. Ricky Eusores, Hon. Gina Balderamos, Hon. Kent Jefflord Guillermo, SK Federation President Hon. Charles Jericho Duane Tan, Mrs. Blesilda Yu, and SB Committee Chair on Education Hon. Ketchie Rex Barrantes. To facilitate the distribution, the Municipal Treasury Office urges the first batch of beneficiaries to personally claim their financial aid from February 10 to 14, 2025. Mayor Yu-Castro emphasized that while the program will continue to undergo screening and assessment, recipients are now assured of ongoing financial support each school year. She encouraged students to remain committed to their studies despite challenges, reaffirming the local government’s dedication to investing in education and the future of Alangalang’s youth.
